School-Age Program

Hours of Operation: 7:00 AM- 6:00 PM

Rainbow Rising Northwood provides before and afterschool onsite daycare at Northwood Elementary school. We also provide all day care during our winter, spring and summer camp programs. During our school session, we provide a homework club program and implement a daily curriculum that consists of science, art, music, language arts and cooking. During our camp sessions we attend field trips and offer arts and crafts projects.  Here at Rainbow Rising Northwood, we strive to build social skills, self confidence and awareness in diversity. while encouraging positive communication through creative play and hands on learning experiences.  Rainbow Rising Northwood has many daily activities for the kids to get involved with including cooking, arts and crafts, song and dance, music, math, science, writing, outdoor sports, fitness, cultural exposure and community.  We also provide a quiet environment, homework supplies and support from our Rainbow staff during Homework Time.

Center Director

After working with Rainbow Rising from 2000-2003 as an assistant teacher, I was inspired and with many tears left Rainbow to pursue my education to become a Child Development Director.  I now am proud to say I've reached my goal as a director at Rainbow Rising.  I have been here at Rainbow as a director since 2007.  I missed Rainbow greatly and I'm ecstatic to be back.  My goal continues to learn and practice to be the best director I can be.  My ultimate goal is to build confidence and good productive citizens for the future through experience, encouragement and understanding of friendship, culture and helping our community and environment.

Rob Kelly

Master Teacher

I have been working for Rainbow Rising since 2005.  It has been the best and most rewarding job I have ever had.  My specialties here at Rainbow include teaching music, playing sports and leading outdoor and indoor games.  It gives me much pride in helping all of our special kids to have fun, learn and enjoy their elementary school years.  At the same time, the kids, in their own unique way, have contributed to my own success, happiness and positive outlook on life.  My goals here at Rainbow continue to be to support the kids in every healthy and positive pursuit they have, making sure they are all safe at all times and that Rainbow remains a place for them to grow positively and                                                              productively.

I have been at Rainbow Rising Northwood since the summer of 2007 and still loving every moment of it!  I love helping and teaching the kids new things they have never seen or done before; the look on their faces is extremely rewarding.  I especially love doing art and cooking activities with the kids, there is always something new and exciting to do!.  I enjoy the art activities so much because you are able to see how creative and truly unique they are.  A couple of my goals at Rainbow is to make sure that they learn good problem solving skills and make sure they treat others how they want to be treated.

I have twenty years experience working with children of all ages.  I have a Supervisory Certificate in Early Childhood Education and I am still furthering my education in the childcare field.  I have worked for Rainbow Rising for over three years and truly love working with our children and staff.  I look forward to many more years working with children and gaining more knowledge as well as enthusiasm in Early Childhood Education.
