About Us
Enrollment Information

Rainbow Rising Northwood offers educational learning opportunities through both inside and outside play and recognizes that learning occurs during playful experiences. At Northwood we help our children build on their cognitive competence and problem solving skills, positive communication skills, and highlight the importance of working well with others.

Our goal is to provide a wide variety of experiences, such as daily developmentally appropriate activities, physical education, academic homework programs, and recreational play in order to promote social, physical, and emotional growth and development. Our teachers work closely with parents and school administration to ensure a positive learning experience through positive reinforcement, patience and understanding. Rainbow also offers all day care during winter, spring, and summer breaks

Thank you for your interest in our program. Due to licensing capacity, Northwood is unable to enroll additional children at this time. Please sign up on Northwood's waiting list and you will be contacted when a spot becomes available. A Waiting List will be compiled for each of the following groups: Kindergarten, Young Riser (1st – 3rd Grade), and High Riser(4th – 6th Grade). Each will be considered separate Waiting Lists.

Amanda Shusted - Director in Training

Hello, my name is Amanda Shusted and I am so excited to be the Director at Northwood! I obtained my degree at California State University of Fullerton, with a BS in Child Adolescent Studies. My passion for working with children started at Rainbow Rising in 2013. I then got to experience working at various centers and got the privilege to connect with many different families. My goal at Rainbow Rising is to create lifelong relationships with families and to keep a safe, creative, and fun environment.

Rochelle Harrell - Assistant Director in Training

Hello Rainbow Families! I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with my Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Studies. I began working for Rainbow Rising in 2016 and I really enjoy it. I have been given the opportunity to grow so much since I started as a Teacher at Westpark Rainbow Rising. In August of 2017 I was promoted to Master Teacher at Eastwood Rainbow Rising. I was very fortunate to not only be given the opportunity to be promoted but to also open a brand-new center. I enjoyed meeting new families and working with new staff. In June of 2018 I was promoted to Assistant Director in Training at Northwood Rainbow Rising. I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity and I am excited to see what the future holds. I really enjoy working with children and I am excited to create new friendships and memories with all of you here at Northwood.
