SERVING IUSD SINCE 1989

Our Mission

The Rainbow Centers provide a quality, safe and fun program for children. We use positive communication, activities and patience to create responsible citizens for the future.

Our History

Rainbow Rising was established in 1989 for the sole purpose of meeting the needs of the school age children in Irvine, California. We are currently located at 14 elementary schools in Irvine. We provide before and after school care as well as all day care when school is not in session. Our all day programs include fall intersessions, winter and spring recess, summer day camp, teacher in-service days, minimum days, modified days and parent conference days.

Our Programs

We have a developmentally based program with homework and enrichment time, recreational play, crafts, arts, music, dance, science and math. We provide opportunities for socialization, friendships and free choice play, as we believe these are essential building blocks for the whole child’s growth and development.

Summer Camp - Once Upon a Summer

Your child’s health and safety is our number one priority at all times. We are closely monitoring all CDC, state, and city guidelines to maintain a safe environment during summer camp. Camp takes place for 10 weeks throughout the months of June, July & August. This year we are headed for adventure - space, sports, fairytales, & more! We have an abundance of fun activities & special days planned! Our daily schedule includes activities such as cooking projects, crafts, science experiments, outside games & various community & charity projects!

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Due to the limitations placed upon our child care license by the California Licensing Department, we can only accommodate 20-40 children in our centers. If these social distancing guidelines continue into the new school year and the rest
of the year, we may only be able to accept a few children for the 2020-2021 school year. Children who enroll at their current or future school site for summer and wish to continue in the school year will be accommodated first.

This is our 33rd summer of providing an active, safe, and enriching day camp program in the City of Irvine. We are successful because we focus on the key elements of children’s self-esteem, pride in oneself, and making and being good friends. This summer we will be helping children expand personal self-esteem and pride in who they are, where they come from, and what they’re about. Pride in country, family, and personal values gives a child internal strength to support their sense of self-worth. We help children develop skills in socialization, cooperation, team play, and individual achievement. We achieve an effective program by combining an experienced and trained staff with a well-planned weekly schedule. Your child will have the same counselors throughout the summer and each week we provide activities based on a different theme. Rainbow Rising has been recognized as a leader in quality school-age care. We are proud of the program we provide and look forward to helping your child share in this pride. We hope your child will join us for a fun, safe, and friend-filled summer!
