SERVING IUSD SINCE 1989

Our Mission

The Rainbow Centers provide a quality, safe and fun program for children. We use positive communication, activities and patience to create responsible citizens for the future.

Our History

Rainbow Rising was established in 1989 for the sole purpose of meeting the needs of the school age children in Irvine, California. We are currently located at 14 elementary schools in Irvine. We provide before and after school care as well as all day care when school is not in session. Our all day programs include fall intersessions, winter and spring recess, summer day camp, teacher in-service days, minimum days, modified days and parent conference days.

Our Programs

We have a developmentally based program with homework and enrichment time, recreational play, crafts, arts, music, dance, science and math. We provide opportunities for socialization, friendships and free choice play, as we believe these are essential building blocks for the whole child’s growth and development.

Distance Learning Testimonials

Angelina Moreno - Parent @ Portola Springs Elementary

Best 1st day of 5th-grade pic ever!! Thanks so much, Jessica! You and your team have been so helpful and responsive to our questions, needs, worries, and suggestions.  We’re very appreciative of the frequent and relevant communication/updates, especially during these first weeks of transition back to school at Rainbow. We’re excited to work with you to make sure all goes smoothly. Please continue to keep us updated and let us know how we can help!

April Hunter - Teacher @ Portola Springs Elementary

I just wanted to say thank you for all you are doing right now.  You guys are supporting our families and our students' learning in the most essential way.  Thank you for all your hard work and support, please know the teachers appreciate you and are thinking of you.  I hope you all have a very restful and unplugged 3 day weekend.

Emily Bucago - Teacher @ Westpark Elementary

I can't let this week end without sending a message about how amazing Westpark's Rainbow Rising is. I do not know how they do it! I have three students in their care during this adventure that is distance learning. Westpark's Rainbow staff deserves all the accolades that I can give. They are doing such an outstanding job working with not only my students but ALL of the kids there. I am so impressed! My students at Rainbow are always ready and logged in to learn. I can only imagine what care goes into making the schedule for the kids. I so so so appreciate Rainbow Rising but even more so during this wild time. Way to go Westpark!

Distance Learning Support - School Year 2020-21

Due to COVID-19, we've adjusted our policies and procedures to adopt the new licensing regulations. Our goal is to provide child care in the safest possible setting. With that being said, please understand this is a fluid situation and guidelines may change. Any significant change to our policy will be followed by an email. (Please note, we update our policies as additional information becomes available)

Major Program Changes:

    • Masks and gloves will be provided to each staff.

    • Children are required to wear masks while indoors or when social distancing is not possible. Rainbow will not provide masks for children.

    • Hand sanitizer, soap, and disinfectant will be provided by Rainbow Rising.

    • Toilets and sinks must be wiped down frequently throughout the day.

    • High-touch surfaces, such as countertops, doorknobs, tables, chairs, cubbies, etc. will be wiped down every hour.

    • Children should remain in groups as small as possible with a maximum ratio of 1:10, keeping the same children and teachers with each group throughout the entire week.

    • Groups may be no larger than 10 persons per room.

    • Parents or guardians should wear masks when signing their child in/out.

    • Items from home are disinfected upon arrival.

    • Children and staff have their temperatures checked upon arrival and throughout the day.
